The main ammunition round used was Panzergranate 39 and Panzergranate
40 which could penetrate up to 41 mm of armour plate at a
range of 100 metres and 39 mm at a range of 500 metres, the
7.5 cm KwK 37 maximum range was 2,000 metres however its maximum
effective range was 1,500 metres at which it could penetrate
33 mm of armour plate. The 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 was replaced
by the more effective 7.5
cm KwK 40 L/48 which was basically a Pak 40
