History

The Schnellboot known to the allies as E-boats were mainly used in coastal waters, There were several classes S-26 class, S-30 class, S-38 class, S-38b class, S-100 class, S-151 class, Type 700. They took over the role of the torpedoboats after those ships were used as destroyers. Operating in coastal waters they had a due purpose, laying mines and they were a extremely effective against the allied ships destroying over 40 warships, and over 100 merchants, but for all that success they suffered heavy losses.
