R-boat 1936-42 Type

History

The R-boat 1936-42 Type (Räumboote) was designed as motor minesweepers and were continually developed from 1936 right up until 1942. These vessels were constructed by the following shipyards

Abeking & Rasmussen, Lemwerder
Schlichting-Werft, Travemünde

93, 1936-42 Type (Räumboote) were constructed during the course of the war. Many went on to serve in German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) that was formed from former crew members and their vessels.
