History

The R18 R-boat (Räumboot) was built in the 1930s by Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard located in Lemwerder, Germany as a minesweeper or escort vessel for the Kriegsmarine.

And which served in the 1. Räumbootsflottille, 14. Räumbootsflottille during World War II.

And after the surrender of Germany was employed in the 25. Räumbootsflottille, German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) and the United States Labour Service Unit B (LSU-B) which were all controlled by the allies.

1935
The R-boat R18 is commissioned.

1937
The R-boat R18 becomes operational with the 1. Räumbootsflottille.

1943

The R-boat R18 becomes operational with the 14. Räumbootsflottille.

1945
The R-boat R18 serves with the United States Labour Service Unit B (LSU-B).

1945
The R-boat R18 serves with the German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA).

1 December 1945
The R-boat R18 is seized as a prize of war by the Danish Navy.

1947
The R-boat R18 is cannibalised and broken up, and scrapped In Britain.
