1940
The troop ship Cap Arcona is taken over by the Kriegsmarine.

1945
The troop ship Cap Arcona is used in Operation Hannibal to transport 25,795 German soldiers and civilians from East Prussia to western Germany.

3 May 1945
The troop ship Cap Arcona is sunk by an RAF attack 16 sailors, 400 SS, and 20 SS women helpers were rescued.

1949
The troop ship Cap Arcona is raised and broken up, and scrapped.
