Most seaplanes and floatplanes came under the command of the
Kriegsmarine air arm (Marineflieger). That is until 1939,
when Hermann
Göring declared all aircraft in German service as
belonging to the Luftwaffe, so the Kriegsmarine air arm was
absorbed into the Luftwaffe effectively cancelling the naval
air arm.
