17. Räumbootsflottille

History

The 17. Räumbootsflottille was formed in July 1944 and was stationed along the coast of the Baltic sea and was initially commanded by Albert Zaage, this flotilla was made up of the following 1936-42 Type and 1937-43 Type R-boats and was deployed for minesweeping and security duties.

After the war had ended the 17. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping by The German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) around the coastal waters of Netherlands.

The 17. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping and security duties in the Baltic sea.

1945
The 17. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping by The German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) around the coastal waters of Netherlands.

1947
The 17. Räumbootsflottille was disbanded and the remaining boats were taken over by America, Denmark, Netherlands.
