History

The 9. Räumbootsflottille was formed in June 1942 and stationed in Rotterdam and initially under the command of Wolfgang Piwowarsky, this flotilla was made up of the following 1936-42 Type and 1937-43 Type R-boats and was deployed for minesweeping and security duties.

After the end of the war the 9. Räumbootsflottille was deployed for minesweeping by the The German Mine Sweeping Administration (GMSA) around the Dutch coastal waters.
