French command reported a seven-hour battle in the Moselle Valley.

Adolf Hitler flew to Warsaw to review German troops were taking part in the siege.

A packed of mutual assistance between the Russian, and Latvia was signed in Moscow.

Russian and Turkish talks reported to be held up.

French submarine arrived safely in port with a German merchant ship captured 1000 miles from the coast.

Washington announced that a warning of the imminent sinking in the same manner as the Athenia of the American steamer Iroquois had been received from the head of the German Kriegsmarine.

The British Prime Minister consulted with TUC leaders on war work control.

The British military of information issued the account of the escape and safe return of a British submarine practically disabled by German depth charges.

The Swedish government announced that 100 cargo steamers would be armed with coastal patrol.
