Aircraft of fleet air arm sank Italian destroyer and hulk used for storeship in harbour North of Augusta, Sicily.

Dutch tanker, Lucrecia was reported sunk by U-34 on 7 July 1940

Latvian steamer sunk by German Luftwaffe planes.

REF bombers delivered daylight attacks on aerodromes at St Omer and Amiens. Malta raided. However, no damage and few casualties.

Blenheim bombers set fire to petrol dump near Tobruk, Libya. Several raids carried out on Macaac aerodrome. Italians still persistently attacking the British Moyale, on Kenya-Abyssinia frontier.

Sudanese police post at Kurmuk reported captured by Italians on 7 July 1940.

Large scale fighting took place all day of south east coasts of England. 14 Luftwaffe aircraft were shot down, and 23 damaged. Bombs dropped in South Wales, damage and some buildings, and minor damage reported from districts in South of England. Damage done to residential district on south coast, four people killed, fleeing civilians machine-gunned.

British union of Fascists are banned as a illegal.

French National Assembly accorded for powers to Marshal Pétain, government by 569 votes to 80.
