The British Admiralty announced that 24 ships of convoy of 38 attacked by Kriegsmarine raider on 5 November 1940 in the mid Atlantic had reached port. Although hit and burning, HMS Jervis Bay, escort vessel, continued fighting, until final explosion sank her. British freighter Balmore reported sinking after Luftwaffe air attack.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Bombers attacked oil plants at Gelsenlgirchen and Cologne, inland port of Duisburg-Ruhrort, and railway centres and factories in Ruhr and near Cologne. Submarine base at Lorient heavily bombed, as well as docks at Flushing and Dunkirk and many aerodromes.

The war against Italy, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Again bombed Durazzo, destroying power house. Bahardar, Italian East Africa, raided by our bombers.

Small number of single Luftwaffe aircraft made daylight raids on Britain. Fairly strong night attack on London. Cinema hit, working-class district bombed, two American Ambulance stations struck. Raids also took place on Merseyside and Midlands.

One Luftwaffe aircraft shot down.

The Greek War, Local skirmishing reported c from Kalamas area. Greeks continued to bring in material and prisoners from Pindus area, including entire Albanian company.

Molotov arrived in Berlin for talks with Adolf Hitler and Joachim von Ribbentrop.

In Africa, Port Gentil, second port of Gabon, surrendered to General de Gaulle.
