Thirty two out of 38 convoy ships attacked on 5 November 1940 now stated to have reached port.

The British Admiralty announced loss of the minesweepers HMS Rinovia, HMS Sevra, HMS William Wesney, HMS Girl Helen, and HMS Stella Orion. Free French patrol boat Le Poulrnic reported sunk by enemy action.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Carried out large-scale operations against railway communications, shipyards, docks and public utility services in Hamburg. Other aircraft raided Kiel dockyard and ports of Ostend and Calais. Coastal Command aircraft bombed targets ranging from Norway to France. Military stores at Rennes successfully attacked, also several aerodromes

The war against Italy, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Again bombed Valona, destroying landing jetty.

Luftwaffe made daylight raids over Kent, Thames Estuary and outskirts of London, but were routed by our fighters. London subjected to heaviest night attack off the war. Buildings damaged included three hotels, two, clubs, several hospitals, churches and chapels, a rest centre for the homeless, shops, houses and flats.

Twenty Luftwaffe aircraft shot down. Britain lost two fighters, but one pilot safe.

Artillery duel fought across Straits of Dover.

The Greek War, Major battle developing along entire length of front. Greek air force and the British Royal Air Force (RAF) Bombed aerodromes at Koritza and Argyrokastro.
