Events On This Day

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombed cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau at Brest and aerodrome at Merignac. Duesseldorf and Borkum also attacked.

The war against Italy, Ceaseless air attacks on enemy troops in Libya. Advance into South Abyssinia from Italian Somaliland developing.

Luftwaffe night raids on Birmingham and Coventry, causing heavy damage and casualties. Ten Luftwaffe raiders shot down.

In the Balkans, British and Imperial forces made contact with Wehrmacht troops in northern Greece. Wehrmacht forces reported to have reached Monastir and Yannitsa. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) made great onslaught on enemy.
