Shipping attacked off Dutch coast . Night attack over Calais area, as well as on Cologne, the Ruhr and the docks at Rotterdam, Ostend, Dunkirk and Boulogne.

Russian Front, Fierce fighting around Briansk Moscow denied Wehrmacht claim to have encircled Marshal Semyon Timoshenko's main forces.

In Africa, Benghazi raided on night of 9-10 October 1941. Aerodromes at Berka and Benina attacked.

Single Luftwaffe plane dropped bombs in open ground near East Coast at night.
