The British Admiralty announced that Italian tanker Maya. had been sunk by British submarine in Aegean Sea.

Russian Front, The Wehrmacht still held outside Leningrad. Russians maintaining heavy pressure at several points in Wehrmacht centre.

In Africa, Fleet Air Arm bombed aerodromes at Gambut and Menastir on night of 9-10 September 1941.

In the Mediterranean, Heavy the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers made night raid on Turin. On night of 9-10 September 1941 aerodromes at Castelvetrano was bombed and Messina heavily raided.
