The British Admiralty announced that the trawlers HMS Rochebonne and HMS Kopanes were reported sunk. Heavy night attacks on Mannheim, Cologne and Coblenz. Other aircraft attacked docks at Ostend, Dunkirk and St. Nazaire.

In Africa, Five enemy mechanised columns advanced from near Sollum but were checked by our forces near Sofan and bombed by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) as they retreated. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) attacked Gambut landing ground. South African Air Force (SAAF) in action for first time in Cyrenaica. In Abyssinia many air attacks made on forts at Amba Alagi and on enemy camps and troops.

Near East, Sucz Canal zone raided for third successive night.

In Iraq, The British Royal Air Force (RAF) engaged in punitive operations against rebels.

Slight Luftwaffe air activity by day and night.

It was announced that Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler's Deputy, had flown from Germany to Scotland on 10 May 1941.
