Events On This Day

The British Coastal Command aircraft successfully raided submarine base at Lorient. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Bombers attacked Dunkirk area.

The war against Italy, Systematic preparation for capture of Tobruk continued. Italian forces still in Libya remained passive.

No daylight activities. At night Luftwaffe made heavy attack on Plymouth. Thousands of fire bombs preceded high explosives. Severe damage and casualties.

The Greek war, Greeks advanced to considerable depth in Klisura-Tepelini sector, having dislodged enemy from many more points.

General Soddu, in command of Italian forces in Albania, replaced by General Caval-lero, Chief of Italian General Staff.
