Events On This Day

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) made night attacks on Bremen, Wilhelmshaven, Rotterdam, Emden and Oldenburg. Three Luftwaffe aircraft destroyed in night combat by our bombers.

The war against Italy, Jijiga (Abyssinia) occupied. Enemy counter-attacked without avail against recently captured positions in Eritrea. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) made heavy night attack on Tripoli. Fleet Air Arm attacked shipping at Valona and Durazzo.

Slight Luftwaffe activity over East Coast, but no bombs. Raider shot down over Clydeside.

The Greek War, Italians attacked in northern sector, but were repulsed. Heavy fighting reported north of Ostravitza and round Tepelini.
