Events On This Day

Three day attacks one on iron and steel works at Ymuiden, Holland, two on industrial targets and railways in St. Omer and Bethune areas. E-boats in Channel bombed.

Russian Front, The Wehrmacht claimed to have captured Novgorod, Kingisepp and Narva, south of Leningrad, and Kherson, at mouth of Dnieper. Russians evacuated Gomel.

In Africa, Day attacks on enemy landing- grounds at Gambut and Menastir.

Few Luftwaffe night raiders dropped bombs near east coast. One Luftwaffe raider destroyed.
