Russian Front, Russians still advancing along the railways leading to Leningrad.

In Africa, Pursuit of Erwin Rommel's Axis forces in Libya continued. It was announced that British had entered Cirene, forty miles west of Derna.

Far East, An attack in force launched upon the Philippines by a new Japanese force of some 100,000 men. Fierce fighting in the Lingayen coastal areas.

It was revealed that Mr. Churchill, together with Lord Beaverbrook and chiefs of staff, were in the United States of America holding talks, Anglo-American conference (ARCADIA) opens at Washington.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 9 B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers from Batchelor Field attack shipping in Davao Bay and land at Del Monte.
