Russian Front, Soviet communique reported continuous fighting along entire front, and in south claimed to have wiped out Rumanian 15th Division. Unofficial Wehrmacht reports, later confirmed, stated that Wehrmacht troops were 60 miles east of Gomel and that Cherkasy, on Dnieper Southeast of Kiev, had been captured.

In Africa, During night the British Royal Air Force (RAF) dropped 20 tons of bombs on Tripoli and also attacked encampments at Sollum, Bardia and Gambut.

Owing to activities of revolting Serbs, Italy placed entire Croatian coast under military occupation.
