Events On This Day

The British Admiralty announced that British submarine had sunk troopship, tanker, Italian destroyer and other ships off Libya. Vigorous night attack on Cologne and on aerodromes and ports in occupied territory.

In Africa, Capture of Gelute, Soddu and Uondo, Abyssinia, reported.

Near East, The British Royal Air Force (RAF) caused extensive damage to aircraft and troops at Maleme, Crete. The Wehrmacht continued efforts to reinforce troops on island. Paratroops being mopped up.

Few Luftwaffe bombs fell during day near coast.
