Events On This Day

The British Admiralty announced that the the submarine HMS Urge had sunk 10,000 ton tanker. Kriegsmarine tanker set on tire off Norway. Night attacks on Kiel and Wilhelnshaven.

The war against Italy, Attack on Tobruk repulsed with heavy enemy losses. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombed mechanised Panzer units and aerodromes in Cyrenaica. Night raids on Tripoli and Benghazi.

Luftwaffe bombs fell during day in Kent. Night raids on southern England and East Anglia. Two Luftwaffe aircraft destroyed.

In the Balkans, Luftwaffe aircraft raided districts of the Piraeus, Aegina, Eleusis and Megara. Two hospital ships, Polikros and Androsjsunk. Corinth bombed. Empire Forces continuing ordered withdrawal.
