Russian Front, Moscow announced continued fighting near Novel, Smolensk and Zhitomir. Soviet aircraft bombed oil depots at Constanza, Rumanian Black Sea port. Ten Luftwaffe machines. shot down during attempted mass raid on Moscow during night.

In Africa, Strong fighting patrol from Tobruk routed large party of Italian's occupying post two miles from our lines. Benghazi again raided by heavy bombers on night of 28-29 July 1941.

In the Mediterranean, The British Royal Air Force (RAF) made onslaught on four aerodromes in Sicily; 34 aircraft destroyed and many others damaged without British loss.

Luftwaffe bombs fell during night at three points in East Anglia.
