Events On This Day

Fighter command made offensive sweeps over coast of northern France. Bombers attacked Kriegsmarine shipping off coasts of France, Belgium and Norway. One Kriegsmarine supply ship set on fire and four others damaged. Night attack in force on Mannheim. Oil stores at Rotterdam bombed.

The war against Italy, In Sollum area enemy invaders being harassed by our patrols.

Luftwaffe day activity in areas near southeast coast and other points. Another severe Luftwaffe night attack on Plymouth. Eight Luftwaffe raiders destroyed. Dover shelled for five hours.

In the Balkans, Evacuation of Greece proceeding.
