The British Royal Air Force (RAF) carryout offensive sweep over North France. Night attack by Coastal Command Hudsons on shipping oft Dutch and Norwegian coasts.

Russian Front, Simferopol, capital of Crimea, captured by the Wehrmacht and Rumanian troops.

In Africa, Enemy aircraft dropped bombs on Cairo area the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out four-hour attack on enemy aerodrome at Castel Benito, South of Tripoli.

A few Luftwaffe bombs fell at night in East Anglia and East Coast of Scotland. One Luftwaffe raider destroyed.

General Sir Archibald Wavell arrived in Singapore.
