Russian Front, Soviet claimed 20 mile advance in the Ukraine and 30 villages recaptured in three days.

In Africa, Heavy bombers of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) made night attack on Tripoli Harbour. Benghazi also heavily bombed.

In the Mediterranean, Three enemy air raids on Malta. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) raided Catania, Sicily Aircraft of Fleet Air Arm attacked escorted enemy convoy coming from Ionian Sea. Two large merchant ships were deft sinking and another was damaged.

A large convoy with reinforcements reached Singapore from Australia.

Conference began between British and United States of America Commander-In-Chief of the Far East at Manila; Philippines.
