Events On This Day

Day attack on shipping off Dutch coast; supply ship set on fire, escort vessel blown up. Very heavy night raid on Berlin. Shipyards at Kiel and docks at Boulogne bombed.

Russian Front, Continuous fighting along whole front. Successful Russian counter-attacks in Kexholm and Gomel areas. Finns having resumed offensive, forces driving southward from Northeast of Lake Ladoga arrived at river Svir.

In Africa, Night bombing raids on Benghazi, Barce, Berka and landing grounds in Libya.

In the Mediterranean, On night of 6-7 September 1941 Fleet Air Arm attacked convoy, hitting two ships out of three. Three Sicilian aerodromes raided.
