Russian Front, Russian forces continued to advance in the Donetz Basin, crossing the Donetz River at many points.

Far East, Japanese at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur intensive patrolling and artillery duels in the Philippines. Japanese landed at night at four points in the Dutch East Indies.

Luftwaffe night raiders over North West England and Midlands. A few bombs fell on Liverpool.

Mr. Duff Cooper recalled from Singapore.

Far East Air Force (FEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) Fighter units complete movement (begun 24 December 41) from various bases on Luzon to Bataan Peninsula.
