British submarine sank two enemy supply ships in Mediterranean.

Russian Front. Rossosh evacuated by Russians, fighting round Kazemirovsk; to the south.

In Africa. At El Alamein our troops attacked in northern sector and made five-mile advance in southern sector Field Marshal Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps advancing eastwards was engaged.

In China. Japanese made new landing in Chekiang at Juian, near Wenchow.

In Australasia. Japanese bombers made heavy attack on barracks and shipping at Port Moresby.

Army Air Forces. Planners for BOLERO build up estimate 137 Army Air Forces groups in United Kingdom by 31 December 1943.

United States Army, Middle East Air Forces (USAMEAF). United States Army Air Force (USAAF) 57th Fighter Group, en route from United States, is assigned to United States Army, Middle East Air Forces (USAMEAF).

Seventh Air Force. Ground echelon of 11th Bomber Group leaves Hawaii for South Pacific aboard USS Argonne.

Eleventh Air Force. 1 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers aborts a reconnaissance mission to Kiska due to weather.
