heavy bombers, with P-38 Lightning fighters escort, bomb rail facilities and harbour
area at Tunis. B-26 Marauder medium bombers on mission to bomb at Sousse or La
Hencha abort due to very bad weather. P-38 Lightning fighters and P-40 fighters
fly widespread reconnaissance operations.
Ninth Air Force. United States
Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40 fighters fly sweeps and attack ground forces in El
Agheila and Brega area. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Liberators, under IX
Bomber Command operational control, attack dock area at Naples.

Eleventh Air Force. Attempted photo reconnaissance over Kiska by a B-24
Liberator heavy bombers and 2 P-38 Lightning fighters returns without result due
to weather. Another reconnaissance B-24 Liberator heavy bombers is turned back
