The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers made night raid on Kiel and other targets in North West Germany.

Russian Front, Local successes by Soviet troops in several areas.

Far East, Relentless air attack on Japanese in New Guinea continued. Thirteen enemy ships reported sunk or put out of action. Washington reported that a United States submarine had sunk three enemy freighters, and one passenger and cargo ship in Japanese waters.

Luftwaffe aircraft shot down off Welsh coast.

Tenth Air Force. 10 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40 fighters arrive in Karachi by ship from Australia.

Zone of Interior. XII Bomber Command is activated at MacDill airfield.
