British Admiralty communique on the three day battle of the Java Sea gave Allied losses as twelve ships. British Cruiser HMS Exeter, Destroyers, HMS Electra, HMS Jupiter, Encounter and Stronghold. Australian Cruiser Perth and sloop Yarra. United States, Cruiser Houston and Destroyer Pope Dutch, Cruisers Java and De Ruyter, Destroyer Kortenaer. Japanese losses not known. In English Channel, two E-boats sunk by surface patrols. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) fighters destroyed 10 enemy aircraft without loss to themselves during offensive sweep over Channel.

Russian Front, New Russian attack in Crimea.

Far East, Officially disclosed that large contingents of United States troops were in Australia. In Burma, Japanese patrols moving in direction of Taikkyi.

Luftwaffe raiders over South West. England at night.
