The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers attacked several targets in Ruhr and Rhineland bombed by night

Russian Front. The Wehrmacht's attacks beaten of at Sebastopol and Kharkov.

In the Mediterranean. Convoy from Gibraltar reached Malta with serious losses after violent air attacks.

In Africa Enemy attacks repelled, at Sidi Rezegh and Acroma.

In China. Kwangfeng, Kiangsi, evacuated by Chinese.

In Australasia. Town and harbour of Darwin raided by 27 heavy Japanese bombers.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, and B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers pound Lae and Salamaua, hitting runways and buildings and starting several fires.
