The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out daylight fighter sweeps over Northern France.

Russian Front. The Wehrmacht claim to have occupied Kerch town and harbour.

In Africa. Benghazi and Berka raided by the British Royal Air Force (RAF).

In the Mediterranean. Five enemy aircraft shot down over Malta.

In Burma. United States of America bombers raided aerodrome at Myitkyina.

In India. Japanese bombed town in East Assam.

In Australasia. Surprise attack by Allied bombers on aerodrome at Lae.

It was announced that more than 2,000 regular officers and cadets of Dutch Army have been sent to prison camps.

Tenth Air Force. Headquarters completes its move from United States to New Delhi. Heavy bombers again strike airfields at Myitkyina, pounding runways and buildings. Subsequent reconnaissance indicates that the runways are unusable.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, B-26 Marauder medium bombers and B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers hit airfields and storehouses at Lae and seaplane base at Deboyne Island.
