In Australasia. United States of America Navy Department. Announced that off Guadalcanal on 13-14-15 November 1942 that the United States fleet sank two Japanese battleships, 8 cruisers, 6 destroyers and 12 transports for the loss of two United States light cruisers and 7 destroyers.

Twelfth Air Force. As British First Army continues into Tunisia, Twelfth Air Force C-47 Skytrain transport aircraft drop British paratroops at Souk el Arba. 6 B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers, of the 97th Bomber Group based at Algiers, raid Sidi Ahmed airfield at Bizerte. Thus the 97th which flew first United States heavy bomber mission from the United Kingdom on 17 August 1942, becomes the first Twelfth Air Force bomb group to fly a combat mission in Africa.

Ninth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-40s patrol over Germiston area.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-26 Marauder medium bombers, B-25 Mitchell medium bombers s, and A-20 Havoc light bombers pound areas around Buna, Gona, Soputa, Sanananda, and Giruwa, hitting antiaircraft positions, buildings, barges, and troop concentrations as United States 32d and Australian 7th Divisions move forward against Buna-Gona beachhead.

Eleventh Air Force. Weather reconnaissance flight is flown over Kiska and Attu. Demolition charges are dropped on Holtz Bay, antiaircraft guns, and on Attu village. Results not observed.
