The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out daylight raids on Cherbourg peninsula. Night attack on Rhineland and Le Havre.

Russian Front, Red Army pushed forward six miles in Karelia.

In the Mediterranean, Three Heavy air attacks on Malta. 30 enemy planes destroyed or damaged. Sicily bombed by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers

In Burma, General Stilwell moves the Chinese 200th Division from Meiktila to Taunggyi to counter the enemys movements in the Loikawe Loilem area. The Chinese 28th Division should also have moved to the Loilem area, but the order is not carried out. The Chinese 96th Division continues with its rearguard actions in the Sittang valley, while the 17th Indian Division, 7th Armoured Brigade and Chinese 22nd Division take up positions round Meiktila and near Thazi.

In the Philippines, Defenders forced to withdraw from Lambunao, Panay.

Commandos raided French coast near Boulogne.

Tenth Air Force. Aircraft begin to evacuate military and civilian personnel and supplies from Burma to India. By 15 June 1942 the Tenth has evacuated 4,499 passengers and 1,733,026 lbs of freight.

South Pacific (SOPAC). Joint United States New Zealand Naval Command ordered established under Admiral Ghormley. It is to operate separately but in close liaison with General MacArthur and Admiral Leary.
