Events On This Day

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out a major raid on the Dunkirk docks.

Russian Front. Fierce fighting continued at Sebastopol and Kharkov.

In Africa. Slight enemy activity in Egyptian frontier region.

In Burma. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers raided Akyab and Magwe.

Argentine merchant steamer Rio Tercero sunk on 22 June 1942 by U-202 off New Jersey.

Eleventh Air Force. A United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers weather reconnaissance aircraft flies over Kiska. Fighters fly offensive patrols patrols. Bombing mission is cancelled due to weather.
