Heavy night attack carried out by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers on Baltic port of Rostock.

In the Mediterranean, More Axis planes; destroyed over Malta.

In Burma, Japanese launched big attacks on three fronts. The Chinese 200th Division engages the Japanese west of Taunggyi, while the Japanese attack Loilem. The Chinese 6th Army retreats in good order towards China.

In Australasia, Allied air attacks on Rabaul. Three Japanese raids on Port Moresby.

South Africa severed diplomatic relations with Vichy.
