Fourteen Danish fishing vessels seized in prohibited waters and brought to British ports.

The British Royal Air Force Wellingtons bombers carried out an extensive bombing attack on Emden and surrounding area at midday.

Russian Front. Fierce fighting continued for the Don crossings near, Stalingrad.

In Africa. Tobruk harbour raided by the British Royal Air Force heavy bombers.

In China. Recapture of important A cities in Kiangsi announced by Chinese.

In Australasia. In a raid on Darwin area 4 Japanese bombers and 9 Japanese fighters were shot down.

Fifth Air Force. A lone United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bombs Buka Island.

Eleventh Air Force. Fog cancels photo mission.
