Russian Front, It was announced that Russian infantry and tanks have surrounded the Wehrmacht ground forces in Novgorod.

In the Mediterranean, The British Admiralty announced two U-boats, two supply ships, six schooners and a motor transport vessel sunk by British submarines.

Far East, At least 12 enemy planes destroyed in attack on Mingaladon aerodrome. United States Navy Department announced that a United States submarine had sunk three Japanese ships and damaged two others in Japanese waters. Port Moresby raided by Japanese planes. Japanese occupied the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal.

Luftwaffe night raids over Southeast Coast. Two Luftwaffe aircraft destroyed.
