Russian Front. Heavy fighting continued on Kharkov front.

In Africa. British withdrew from Sollum and Sidi Omar.

In China. American Volunteer Group (AVG) raided Hankow and other Japanese bases.

In Australasia. Allied reconnaissance planes over Kendari, Celebes.

Five Luftwaffe raiders shot down in attacks on Midlands and East Anglia, England

European Theatre of Operations, United States Army (ETOUSA). General Eisenhower arrives in United Kingdom.

HALPRO. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Bengasi harbour during 23-24 June 1942.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers hit Vunakanau airfields. Bomb loads include several bundles of incendiaries which cause intense fires.

Eleventh Air Force. Weather cancels bombing. 1 B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers flies weather reconnaissance over Kiska. Fighters patrol airfields.
