General Lynd becomes Commanding General VII Bomber Command.
Air Force. A field order bases the 404th Bomber Squadron at Fairbanks, to operate
out of Nome, to which 1 Squadron of the 54th Fighter Group is also sent. Another
Squadron of the 54th (P-39 fighters) is sent to Fort Richardson. 2 B-17 Flying
Fortress heavy bombers, 4 B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and 1 LB-30 bomber fly
bombing and weather missions over Kiska, bombing North side of the harbour.
