bomber bombs ship at Homs harbour. P-40s patrol over Bengasi and Derna area.
Fifth Air Force. United States and Australian ground forces carry out limited
attacks on Buna front, making little progress. In an effort to break Japanese
air superiority over Buna, Fifth Air Force P-40s, A-20 Havoc light bombers, and
B-25 Mitchell medium bombers pound airfield and antiaircraft positions in the
area B-26 Marauder medium bombers strike Salamaua area.
