Eighth Air Force. Almost 230 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) heavy bombers attack city area and ball bearing plants at Schweinfurt. The attack which causes great damage and interference with production, results in German reorganisation of bearing industry. As a result of these heavy losses, daylight bombing against strategic targets deep in Germany are discontinued for a short period.

Twelfth Air Force. XII Bomber Command B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit and hit Argos airfield. B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bomb Terni marshalling yard. Other B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers and B-24 Liberator heavy bombers attack bridge at Giulianova, town area of Piano Vomano and railroad and highway bridges North of Pescara and along East coast of Italy. Weather hinders tactical aircraft operations, but XII A Support Command and Desert Air Force (DAF) hit trains and vehicles and fly patrols from North of Volturno River to Formia and North of Pescara.

Fourteenth Air Force. 4 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers attack shipping in Amoy area, damaging 2 freighters, and also bomb Amoy airfield.
