Ninth Air Force. Bad weather causes 72 medium bombers sent to bomb Evreux, Fauville airfields to abort mission.

Twelfth Air Force. Colonel Arthur Thomas takes command of XII Air Force Services Command XII Bomber Command B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers hit railroad viaduct at Terni and rail and road bridges in Albania. B-24 Liberator heavy bombers hit Orvieto railroad bridge. B-26 Marauder medium bombers and B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb bridges at Montalto di Castro and North West of Acquapendente and railroad at Orbetello. P-38 Lightning fighters bomb radar station at Pellegrino and marshalling yard at Skoplje. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Northwest African Tactical Air Force (NATAF) light bombers and medium bombers concentrate on Cassino, hitting town, bivouac area nearby, and railroad to the South. Vessels along Dalmatian coast are also attacked. XII A Support Command fighters and fighter-bombers patrol Naples area and attack numerous roads, railroads, bridges, junctions, trucks, gun emplacements, and other targets in battle area.

Fourteenth Air Force. 6 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Nawlang; barracks area is blasted by at least 3 direct hits. 6 P-40 fighters pound barracks area at Kunlong.

Fifth Air Force. More than 50 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb positions at Sattelberg. 19 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers follow with low-level strike. Other B-25 Mitchell medium bombers carry out sweep along Bogadjim road. P-40 fighters bomb Gasmata area and attack 2 light cruisers off New Ireland, damaging 1 of them.

Thirteenth Air Force. 12 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, with escort of 36 fighters, attack Kara airfield. Runway and several buildings suffer direct hits.
