Spezia, Italian naval base, raided by The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Lancaster's bombers returning from North Africa to England.

In the Mediterranean. Pozzallo (Sicily) attacked by Malta based fighter and bombers. Catania attacked by the British Royal Air Force (RAF)Wellingtons bombers.

Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) Wellingtons bomb town of Olbia and lay mines in the harbour during 22-23 June 1943. Photo reconnaissance aeroplanes continue missions, flying over areas of mainland Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, and South coast of France.

Ninth Air Force. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, under IX Bomber Command, hit Comiso airfield. Fighters patrol over Pantelleria without incident.

Fifth Air Force. 17 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb shipping, dock area, factory and residential areas of Makassar. 2 light cruisers are damaged and many buildings along Juliana Quay and in town area are damaged or demolished. A single B-24 Liberator heavy bombers or armed reconnaissance bombs Lae airfield.

Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and Navy fighters and dive bombers hit Buki village.
