Twelfth Air Force. More than 100 XII Bomber Command B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers, escorted by P-38 Lightning fighters, bomb Genoa marshalling yard and also hit Sampierdarena marshalling yard, San Giorgio instrument factory, and ordnance, electric, and fitting plants and bridges at Genoa, Ansaldo. XII A Support Command, Northwest African Tactical Bomber Force (NATBF), and Desert Air Force (DAF) are forced by bad weather to abandon several missions in support of ground forces. Troops and gun positions are attacked on 2 occasions and several bridges are hit. Giulianova harbour and shipping are successfully attacked.

Fourteenth Air Force. 14 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers and 16 P-40 fighters pound smelter area at Quang Yen. 2 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb administration building and runway at Fort Bayard airfield. 9 P-40 fighters on offensive ren in Chiuchiang area strafe 200 ft steamer and attack a train, destroying the locomotive.

Fifth Air Force. 37 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, escorted by 53 P-38 Lightning fighters, pound Rabaul area, claiming 45 aeroplanes destroyed on the ground and in the air. 17 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit Madang area. P-47 Thunderbolt fighters attack shipping in Hansa Bay and strafe Cape Gloucester area. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers sink vessel off Tanimbar Islands while B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Selaroe airstrip and attack Waroe Bay area.

Thirteenth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers and B-24 Liberator heavy bombers, along with 40 Navy aircraft, bomb airfields at Buka and Bonis.
