The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers carried out another heavy night attack on Essen.

North Africa. Allied troops occupied Cap Serrat, 40 miles West of Bizerta.

Northwest African Air Forces (NAAF). Weather cancels Northwest African Strategic Air Force (NASAF) bomber operations. Northwest African Tactical Air Force (NATAF) fighters strafe tanks and trucks at Kebira and Jabal Nasir Allah, and claim 14 aircraft downed in aerial combat over Djebel Berda. B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb airfields at Sainte-Marie du Zit. Western Desert Air Force (WDAF) Light bombers hit motor transport and gun positions North of Oued el Akarit.

Ninth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Sfax-El Maou area during 2-3 April 1943. P-40 fighters fly fighter-bomber missions North of Gabes.

Tenth Air Force. 17 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers, operating in 2 forces, bomb Myitnge bridge, scoring hits on both approaches.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) A-20 Havoc light bombers hit Kitchen Creek. B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers pound shipping and airfield at Kavieng. Single B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Kavieng and hit Korindindi.
