Ninth Air Force. IX Fighter Command is assigned its first tactical fighters unit, the 354th Fighter Group (P-51 Mustang fighter-bombers).

Twelfth Air Force. Weather cancels all XII A Support Command missions except fighters patrols. Northwest African Tactical Bomber Force (NATBF) bombers and Desert Air Force (DAF) fighters fly only 6 missions, hitting gun positions along battle line, vehicles West of Sangro river, and trains at Civitanova and Pescara.

Fifteenth Air Force. 81 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers bomb Turin ball bearing works, marshalling yard, and nearby motor and aircraft engine works. P-38 Lightning fighters provide escort as far North as Imperia.

Tenth Air Force. 5 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers lay mines in Rangoon River during 8-9 November 1943.

Fourteenth Air Force. 2 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-25 Mitchell medium bombers bomb Kiungshan airfield, scoring direct hits on 2 hangars. 6 P-40 fighters attack Hsiangvangchiao bridge, causing little damage.

Fifth Air Force. United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers on armed reconnaissance bomb Garove Island and hit Kaimana.

Thirteenth Air Force. 22 United States Army Air Force (USAAF) B-24 Liberator heavy bombers bomb Bonis airfield. 6 B-25 Mitchell medium bombers hit targets at mouth of Laruma River and North West of Torokina Island while 6 others bomb Kieta.
